National Post Grad Showcase Day 1

RS Phoenix vs West Point Prep:
The competition was outstanding from the very first game with The Robinson School of Irvington, New Jersey taking on a West Point Prep team that came out guns loaded. Quite frankly, it was a war. West Point Prep could do no wrong, their squad was one of the most disciplined set of players this season, they were relentless, every play run to perfection, every basket contested, and they we big and strong. But they were up against a Vince Robinson team, and what we witnessed from first half to second half was a Coach driven to get the most he could from his team. Coach Robinson basically willed his team to success, pulling out every ounce of blood, sweat and tears they could muster to hold back an Army Team that just would not let up. This might be the best Army Prep team ever. In the end, when the war was over,

Robinson 79, West Point 78

– what a game! Players to watch Dawan Lighty of Paterson was out standing with 17 points, with 11 coming in the second half, and hitting two key 3 pointers to carry his team forward, along with teammate Patrick Cole of Newark, who kept them in the game the first half with 13 points. West Point was led by the guard play of Toomey and Wilson who combined for 37 points.
