Tarell Robinson starts his 1st season as an assistant coach at the Robinson School. Robinson was the assistant coach at Rutgers University-Camden for the 08-09 season after completing a 2 year playing career for the Raptors. He served as the team’s co-captain 07-08 season, when he earned the Samuel Strauss Memorial Award as the Raptors’ Most Dedicated Player. He averaged 4.8 points and 3.7 rebounds as a senior, while starting 19 of his 24 games. He collected 29 assists and was second on the squad with 35 steals, good for 12th in the New Jersey Athletic Conference at 1.46 per game.   Robinson’s biggest game came against Albany Pharmacy in the consolation game of the Sheraton’s New Year’s Tournament at Albright College Jan. 5, 2008. He had seven rebounds and scored a career-high 13 points, helping to earn himself Raptor of the Week honors on Jan. 7. He tied his career high with 13 points against New Jersey City University (Feb. 9) and added 10 points and seven rebounds in his final collegiate game, an 80-77 overtime win against The College of New Jersey (Feb. 23). His career high of eight rebounds came at Brooklyn College (Dec. 1, 2007).During his Raptor career, Robinson played in 46 games, averaging 3.5 points and 2.6 rebounds. He had 56 assists and 50 steals.A former basketball letterman at St. Benedict’s Prep, Robinson graduated with an English degree from Rutgers-Camden in May 2009. Robinson is also the assistant director of the Vincent Robinson Basketball Academy which provides skill development to children ages 5-15 in the Northern NJ area. Robinson has a son Terrance James Robinson and plans to get into coaching on the collegiate levels.
